North Elmham Cricket Club

Update from the Captain

Hi All,

Sadly we have just had another weekend of washed out cricket making that 6 Saturday games rained off out of a possible 12.

The good news is that the Saturday XI are still sitting in second place behind Reepham & Salle and just ahead of Swanton Morley and Brisley with 6 matches to go so all to play for. The Sunday team are second from bottom of their League but very pleasingly appear to have no shortage of players with Kevin Hall doing a great job giving everyone a turn.

On Saturday 21st July after our home fixture against Ketteringham Hall the club will be holding a BBQ at the Railway with all proceeds going to towards club funds. Who knows after this summer maybe we should be investing in covers...?

Please do your best to attend and bring along any friends and family to support the club. Our South African contingent will be in charge of the BBQ (or should I say braai?) which will start once we have finished the game against Kett Hall so circa 7.00-7.30pm. Burgers and sausages will be served and will be charged at £2/bun.

Can you let me know if you will be attending along with numbers of friends/ family so that we can cater for the numbers?

If the game is rained off we still plan on holding the BBQ.

Kevin - would you mind spreading the word amongst your squad please as don't have all their contact details?

Finally, we are now moving into the final phase of the season which coincides with the school holidays. This means that a number of players will be missing for critical games. Can I ask those of you not going away to make yourselves available for the final push towards a hoped for promotion.

Hopefully see you all next Saturday at the BBQ.

Regards

Iain
